Salon des Refusés 2014 – Stokes Hill Wharf Darwin
Opening 3pm Friday 8th August
Following last years hugely successful inaugural event, Salon Des Refuses is back. Coinciding with the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award (NATSIAA), this critically acclaimed and popular exhibition features a diverse range of works submitted but not accepted into the NATSIAA. It provides an excellent opportunity to view and experience the incredible scope and depth of Indigenous art while encouraging fresh dialogue regarding the NATSIAA event.
Papunya Tula Artists will be represented in the Salon des Rufusés with standout works by Johnny Yungut Tjupurrula and Yukultji Napangati. Papunya Tula Artists would also like to congratulate Katarra Butler Napaltjarri and Yinarupa Nangala for their selection as finalists in this years NATSIAA event. This is the first time Katarra Napaltjarri has been selected, while for Yinarupa Nangala who was awarded the General Painting Award in 2009, it will be her fourth inclusion.
