Doreen Reid Nakamarra recently attended the opening of National Indigenous Art Triennial: Culture Warriors at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra. She was one of thirty artists represented in the exihibition. Doreen is a leader among Papunya Tula Artist’s rising stars, who are forging a dynamic new direction within the company. Her selection is recognition of her dedication, innovation and talent as an artist.
Doreen’s intricate, linear works represent the terrain of various women’s sites surrounding the community of Kiwirrkura where she resides.

The work of thirty artists has been selected, representing the diversity of regions around Australia and demonstrating the incredible range of contemporary Indigenous art practice. The National Indigenous Art Triennial provides a highly considered snapshot of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contemporary art practice.
